TRUE ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS

Christmas is nearly coming.. It can now be felt through the Christmas lights that can be seen outside the houses, the chrismas decorations around and through the cold breeze of wind. People are getting excited about Christmas. They are now doing preparations for them to be ready on December 25. But what is really the true essence of christmas? How can we celebrate it in a special way?

For me, Christmas is one of the most special occasion to celebrate. It is the time to reunite or to be with your love ones. For nine days, from the dawn of December 26 to December 25 we are attending the Misa de Gallo to welcome the birth of Christ. One of its true essence of celebrating Christmas is remembering the birth of Jesus Christ our Savior. It is the best tine to thank him for everything he has done especially for giving his life for our safety. We can also spread the good news of the Lord by doing good. Giving... and Sharing... These two are another essence of Christmas. We must not think of how expensive the gift is but the most important is the value of the gift and the one who give. People now do sometimes expect for material things, and they forget about the real perpose of gift giving.

One thing we can do is to do good in our own community. It is one of the best way to celebrate Christmas-by giving a helping hand. We can share our time so we can be aware of the problems that our community is facing. We can help in beautifying our locality and we can start it in our own houses. We can also give things taht we have to people in need-- food, dresses, and even toys for the children. In these ways, we can make them happy.

But one thing is for sure-- LOVE is the best gift we can give and share to everyone-- to our family, relatives, friends, even enemies,to our community and to our Mother Earth..

Let us not forget the real essence of Christmas..!!

Struggles

We are already in the month of December and Christmas is really fast approaching. Feeling the breeze of Christmas made me reminisce about my experiences this school year.
There were good incidents that happened but still it can never go without the bad incidents.
There were lot of activities that sometimes you have to choose. These activities have good memories that I will cherish forever. There were so many things that happened---contests, seminars and trainings that gave me new learning and let me met new friends.
Scouting and leadership were the best part for me. Leadership abilities and camaraderie were best developed through it all.
There were also lots of changes that happened in an unexpected time---My honor went down... And I lost my best friend...
Well, everything was just a apart of life.
For the month of November, it was the Filipino-Values Education Month and the theme was " Pagpapatibay ng Pagkataong Pilipino Tugon Sa Hamon ng Panahon."
We must strengthen our own Filipino values through the challenges of life. We should give our best effort and believe that whatever comes to our lives, we will always conquer it. Developing and preserving our values should be kept in our minds.
We, the Filipinos are known for being lively and happy despite of the trials we face. Even though we have problems, we still see the good side of life. That is how positive we are! We are also known for being hospitable. We accept our visitors and served them in good ways.
We may encounter changes, but we should embrace and take it as part of everything.. :'>

Discovering Again New Things

Time passed and moved so fast, that I didn't even notice that everything around me had already changed.

The Second Grading was about to end but the new knowledge and learnings will stay on my mind.

In this grading, I learned about the HTML and working on the Notepad. And still we continued to post on our own blogs, the topic were about the Filipino month, Science month and Teachers' month. The topics were all interesting , especially the last one.

At first I had a dilemma in working on the Notepad for it was new to me. I became interested about it because it was about creating soon a web page. I really wanted to learn and maybe master those things. It was really hard for me to make my post and activities for I didn't have much time.

Time management was the first solution and then the mastery and learning more. It was good that I learn new things.

This things can be applied in the near future and I am excited for the next gradings to come. For I know I will be learning more again.

My Teacher, My Hero!

"A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence sopts."

Without them, there would be no professionals in the world or even there would be no great student. Do you know who these great people are? I am referring to the TEACHERS. Teachers are our second parents, sometimes our friends and our molders.

There is this someone-a teacher who really inspires me most but of course every teacher do inspireme. she made me salute all the teachers. I am talking about my mother who is a teacher. She always wake-up early to prepare for us, even though she was tired the other night then she will prepare herself to go to school and inspire her students. She always do her best to teach, help and mold her students. she always teel me that education or learnings is not always found inside the school but even outside it. that is why, she always supports me of what I do as long as it can help and benefit me. She always works at school professionally even though she is thinking about so many things. That made me think on how she could manage to do so. Maybe, she needs to or she really loves her work. That is why I am thankful that I have her.

Sometimes, it made me think that I don't want to be a teacher not because I don't want to but because I know that I can't do the same job or either I know it's hard.

I always thank all the teachers for the knowledge they had shared and the learnings they had given. Thank You! Thank You!

Adapting to Diverse Science Culture for Development

What are the different science culture? Advancement of technology like the existence of computers, processed foods, synthetic foods, synthetic drugs are few diverses science culture, is it really for development?

Yes, we are adapting diverse science culture like the existence of computers in which almost or should I say majority of people especially of the younger generstions or the students were being addicted because of the different features like chatting or communicating with otherpeople locally and internationally, playing on computers with the different games installed, researching in the internet, typing and computing in a comvenient and fastest way. This is really advantageous on the part of students, businessmen and all people, from all walls of life but despite the benefits there are also disadvantages... to our health... its hazard effects, the games in which we become addicted, in using Excel for computing, our minds no longer function as it should be, by chatting or texting you know many persons here and abroad, these situations make committed people turned their life miserable.

With the advancement of technology like the use of cellphones, sometimes destroys the studies of the students, because of textmates, these gadgets has radiation also that compromises our health specifically our skin and other vital organs are also affected in which this is taken for granted. Because we are no longer "in" or illiterate if we don't know how to operate these gadgets.

Will this not lesser also the jobs of people instead of doing the work, it is the computer doing their works. Cellphones with cameras sometimes or most of the time is used to expose malicious acts that destroys the morale of the concern individual, another is the certain procedures in an institutionthat broke the right of each and everyone of us.

Anotheris the advancement on aesthetic surgery as a products of science because people are not contented of their God-given beauty that may resort to infection, eventually to death. Some are successfully operated as long as they have money, a person can undergo as many operations as they wish.

But is it really for development?? Maybe yes, maybe no... Are we really developed for the better or for worst??

I will these questions for all of us to think and be more aware..

Filipino Language: From Baler To the Whole Archipelago

ONE LANGUAGE...!!!!
ONE NATION...!!!!!

Have you ever thought how the Filipinos can understand each other, when in fact we all know that in every place here in the Philippines there are different dialects??

If we cannot unberstand each other then we could encounter more problems. But THANKS to our Former PRESIDENT MANUEL L. QUEZON. He was the one who proclaimed that FILIPINO LANGUAGE will be the NATIONAL LANGUAGE in the country. The late President came from BALER, QUEZON, which we can that that place was the start of the journey of having one languagew. From that place FILIPINO LANGUAGE had been taught to every FILIPINO. President Quezon is the FATHER OF PHILIPPINE LANGUAGE.

With that the FILIPINOS, in a way was united. They can be understood and can express their own thoughts with the idea of NATIONALISM.

Like as what have been done every month of August in Year, it has been celebrated as the MONTH OF LANGUAGE. IT is a way to thank PResident Quezon and to endorse the language.

WE SHOULD BE PROUD..

BE THANKFUL..

FOR OUR OWN LANGUAGE IS A GIFT THAT GOD HAS GIVEN US TO BE UNITED.

"New room, new teacher and new lessons/topics."

As I entered the Senior life, I became excited, nervous and sad for I know that i will be soon graduating. I know that I will be encountering new things

For the passed years our subject TLE was more on using the microsoft word, powerpoint and Linux-Calc, Writer and others. But our subject TLE IV would be more on the internet-exploring it. really wanted to learn and explore the internet world.

On the First Grading I learned about Internet's history, the Pioneers-Foreign or Filipino, Internets uses tools and devices and even the major components. I have also known about the World Wide Web and the unfamiliar Search Terms. We also discussed about the Blog--history and it's advantages. I have known more about how to use the Blog. I was really interested about it. There were also groups, which were given a project to be accomplish.

Much of my problems was on our Project. It was really hard for we had to give much of our time and effort to it. We also need to sacrifice on money. Preparing the write-ups was a hard one. I also had a difficulty on using the internet for some were just new to me.

I had to face my problems--that was all I knew. I really want to learn, so I have to study those difficult things. I did my best to explore it. In our project, cooperation was the biggest solution.

Speak in English or Filipino Properly with Kindness

Communication is a way to interact, and express and knows one's feelings. Speaking is a very effective to communicate with other people. We use different languages or dialects that can be understood by others.

Last month our school, Ilocos Sur National High School had promoted a campaign entitled "Speak to me in English or Filipino" to the students.The officers made some placards telling things related to speaking emglish or Filipino. They did that for they want to convince everyone to speak those languages even if we are at school or outside the school. In this way our students could practice speaking better and more fluent. They could communicate with other students or other people well. They could express whatever they want to say in a better way.

People sometimes forget those manners in speaking. Some, just talk and talk even it don't have any sense. Sometimes, they just tell anything without even knowing that they could hurt someones feeling or emotion.

In speaking, we must always remember that we must talk with calmness, kindness and gentleness. We must always use every words properly. We must always be aware that the people aroung us have feelings. We must be gentle so that we will not hurt anyone's feeling.

If we practice speaking in a proper, we will then be more understood or even more competitive. But still, we must forget our own dialect----we must use it and be proud of it.

Are you aware of the diseases around? Aren't you worried about it? Are the food you eat nutritious? Aren't you bothered about it?
In our world today, we have the technologies that improve our living but somehow it also give bad effects to us human. Technology is very beneficial, especially to the modern day workers for they have to prepare their things easily and one thing is on food. We have the processed foods like instant noodles and hotdogs that are easy to prepare but are not that nutritious that may cause problem.
Today, diseases are easy to spread and are caused by our daily activities like taking too much sugar or salt. Some diseases are caused by our wrong doings and bad habit of eating. We eat too much but sometimes we eat only few. These may affect our resistance.
So, we must practice eating nutritious foods, having exercises, drinking enough glasses of water, and avoiding drinking liquor, using cigarettes or using drugs.
The nutritious foods are foods which belong to the GO, GROW, and GLOW groups. Foods with the right nutrients and amount may keep us healthy and protect us from diseases. We need the right nutrition to help us avoid these lifestyle diseases
